Thursday night was spent at the kitchen baking hugs for B3 and VOM. I had no idea what I was going to make when I arrived, but after surveying my ingredient rack, I decided to mix things up a bit. Dark Chocolate Chip Blueberry Pecan, Cranberry Chocolate Chunk, M & M Chocolate Chip and PB Cup Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies were the flavors that suited my fancy. I just hope the customers at my favorite cafes feel the same.
Today is the start of my baking vacation. No baking of any kind is going on for the next couple of days. I feel so good I could almost polka...or line dance around a restaurant...or toast with a glass of wine...or sway back and forth to the melodic tones of accordion music. Sooooo, I actually did a little bit of all of it at Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe in downtown Sanford with my two favorite guys, Mike and Ryan. Ryan came up with the suggestion and Mike and I gladly agreed that this was the ticket for a no baking celebration. And celebrate we did! Mike raised a glass or two of German beer. I sipped a glass of German Riesling. Ryan got wild with a glass of ice water or three. My Oktoberfest Sausage Sampler with red cabbage and spaetzle was absolutely perfect. Ryan and Mike got Pork Schnietzel with spaetzle and potato pancakes. We all got exactly what we needed for a happy dance Friday night.
Many hugs,
Kathy
